The Northern Angami Youth Organization (NAYO) is all set to organise NAYO Musical Night as part of its 25th anniversary on October 28 at Kohima Local Ground, Khuochiezie from 5:00 PM onwards.
NAYO, formed in 1993 comprise of 31 villages and having not less than 5000 members.
“Within 25 years we could able to produce so many artists especially in the field of music and that is one of our achievements,” said organizing committee convenor Kekhriengulie Theiinuo while addressing a press conference here.
The musical night is to celebrate the talents and achievements of the youth in the field of music, said NAYO general secretary M. Mathew Yhome adding that the artists for the musical night will be solely from Northern Angami area.
Theiinuo said Methaneilie Jiitakhrie is composing 25th Anniversary theme song and the same will be released by him on the same evening. Methaneilie will also present some old songs in the musical night.
Other artistes will include Euphony Choir, Ruokuovotuo Pfiisenuo, Dziesekhrienuo Keretsii, Visetuo Chiipuo, Thejaneinuo Kiewhuo, Kikrusenuo Kiewhuo, Thejangulie Metha, Keneisedenuo & sisters and Mhasizolie Metsieo.
For maintenance, the musical night will be on ticket system. Rs. 1000 for donor (Admit two) and Gallery- Rs. 200.
Mass social work
Theiinuo informed that as part of the yearlong celebration of 25th anniversary, a mass social work will be organised by NAYO by the first part of November. It will take place along National Highway- 2, right from Kohima till Botsa. All NAYO members will join the same, he said.
Stone pulling ceremony
The main celebration of NAYO 25th anniversary will be held on December 5 in collaboration with the state government. One of the main events will be stone pulling ceremony in coinciding with the Hornbill Festival of Nagaland.
Theiinuo said that NAYO is expecting a good number of both domestic and international tourists to join the celebration.
The starting point for stone pulling ceremony will be Chiechama till Chiephobozou- Northern Angami centre. Inauguration of NAYO office cum hall in honour of 25th anniversary is also tentatively fixed on November 7 at Chiephobozou. Chiephobozou lies around 23 km from state capital Kohima.
