PHEK, SEPTEMBER 13 (MExN): The Phek District Inter-Schools U-14 Sepaktakrow Tournament 2025 was organised by the All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Phek Unit, at the Badminton Stadium in Phek town on September 12.
In the boys’ category, Nazareth HSS clinched the first position while Royal Foundation School, Phek, finished runners-up. In the girls’ category too, Nazareth HSS secured the top spot, with Royal Foundation School settling for second place.
District Sports Officer of Phek, Tepulezonu Tetso, graced the inaugural function as guest speaker. Addressing the students, she encouraged young athletes to aspire to become professional sportspersons and called upon parents and schools to provide opportunities for talented students in sports.
The inaugural programme was presided over by ANPSA Phek Unit assistant general secretary, Kudezo Vero. The opening prayer was said by Fr. Sivi George, Principal of Bishop Abraham Memorial School, Phek, while the welcome address was delivered by ANPSA Phek Unit president, Thepuhu Thira.
A special song titled It’s a Beautiful Day was presented by Panato Chishi of Holy Care School, Phek. The oath-taking ceremony for athletes was administered by Stephen Choriya.
The prize distribution was conducted under the supervision of Ado Sakhrie, Advisor to ANPSA Phek Unit. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Fr. Cyprian Lobo, Advisor to ANPSA Phek, and benediction by Tsuvelu Hoshi, Assistant Headmaster of Royal Foundation School, Phek.
