NBA inducts new office bearers

CHÜMOUKEDIMA, AUGUST 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Badminton Association (NBA) held an induction-cum-accreditation ceremony on August 1 following the conclusion of the previous tenure under the leadership of Kesonyu Yhome, IAS, which ended on July 31, 2025.

The new office bearers were elected during the NBA's Annual General Meeting held on July 31 at Rhododendron Hall, Nagaland Police Officers’ Central Mess, Police Complex, Chümoukedima. The names proposed by the Search Committee were unanimously approved by the house.

Dr Watizulu Süzümeren has been elected as the new President for the 2025–2029 term. He previously served as the Senior Vice President of the NBA and Vice President of the Badminton Association of India. Joseph Sumi, has been appointed as the Honorary General Secretary. A decorated player himself, Sumi is a 15-time State Singles Champion and 12-time North East Singles Champion.

The newly elected office bearers are as follows- Senior Vice President: Wennyie Konyak, Vice Presidents: T. Aochuba, Er Sabou Yashü, Er Chirhotho Rasutho, R. Thsanso Yimchunger and Dr George Thira; Associate Vice Presidents: Rhovisie Nyuwi, Honorary General Secretary: Joseph Sumi, Treasurer: Caleb P. Shohe, Joint Secretaries: Er. Ichirang Zeliang, Er. Moamongba Longchari, Dr Alice Kenye and Dr N. Janbemo Humtsoe.

Executive Council Members include Seyietuo Yashii, Zakabo Rotokha, B. Setsato Sangtam, Kekhrie Zhiephrii, Amai Chingkhu, Dr Thoshusie Katiry, Imomar Jamir, Y. Tamung Konyak, Tonny A. Swu, P. Pukha, Kidosap Siarau, Vekhrolo Koza, Y. Rhekhum, Roben Mesen, Chubasashi Sangtam, David Sema and Wati Odyuo.
