NBBSS all India governing body meet held in Dimapur

DIMAPUR, JUNe 26 (MExN): Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan, Dimapur branch hosted the organization’s 100th All India Governing Body meeting on June 22 and 23 in Dimapur. The meeting was attended by 110 delegates from the field of Bengali literature from different parts of India. 

A press release issued by NBBSS, Dimapur branch informed that the chief guest for the inaugural was Anil Kumar Dhar, General Secretary of NBBSS (Central), New Delhi. Other dignitaries include Swami Chinmayanandaji, K.K. Paul, President Bengali Samaj, Arun Nandi, Bidhan Roy and Gobinda Debnath from State Committee. To mark the occasion, a web magazine “Sankhanad” was launched by the chief guest. 

A felicitation cum cultural programme was organized at Pranab Jubilee Auditorium, Dimapur where Manoj Bhattacharjee, president, NBBSS Dimapur branched welcomed the delegates. 

The cultural programme began with the lighting of the lamp and a group song by the women members of NBBSS, Dimapur. This was followed by performances by cultural troops from various musical institutes of Dimapur. 

The two days meeting which was held at Rotary Auditorium, Dimapur concluded on June 23 by taking various resolutions. 

NBBSS is an all India based organisation with head office at New Delhi with branches all over India. it was established in 1922 at Banaras, Uttar Pradesh by Rabindranath Tagore, Atul Prasad Sen, Radha Kamal Mukherjee, Kadarnath Bandhopadhya, Mahendra Chandra Roy and other prominent novelist, writers, composers, poets and Bengali literature loving people, the press release said.
