NBBSS Nagaland welcomes recognition of Bengali language as Classical

Dimapur, October 6 (MExN): The Nikhil Bharat Banga Sahitya Sammelan in Nagaland has extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Government of India for recognizing Bengali as a Classical language. This historic designation places Bengali alongside other esteemed classical languages, acknowledging its rich literary and cultural heritage and underscoring its contribution to India’s diverse linguistic landscape.

In a statement, the organization expressed that this recognition honors Bengali literature's contributions and strengthens the cultural identity of Bengali speakers nationwide. The organization praised this move as an essential step toward the preservation and promotion of linguistic diversity within India.
