NBCC calls for special prayers for Thailand

Dimapur, November 11 (MExN): Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) urges all its constituent associations and member churches to set aside November 20 as a day for special prayer for Thailand, currently reeling from flood, the country’s worst in 50 years.
“It has been reported that flood waters have swamped more than two-thirds of the country, submerging rice fields and shutting down hundreds of factories while over a million families and businesses have been impacted and hundreds of lives have been tragically lost. National relief efforts are now focused on providing essential food, clean water and shelter to displaced people and restoring damaged infrastructure in the affected areas,” a message from the church organization said today.
In view of the devastation that has caused “both humanitarian and national” crisis in Thailand,  the NBCC calls upon all its constituents to set aside November 20 to offer special prayers for the people of Thailand. “Please pray that flooding can be contained and resolved as soon as possible to avert further suffering caused to the people by the flood,” the NBCC stated.
