NBCC Education Department celebrates 50 years

Kohima, October 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Education and Communication Department’s ministry since its inception in 1966 on October 2. To mark this significant occasion, a golden anniversary programme was held at the Platinum Hall, NBCC Office, a press release informed.  

During the programme, Rev. K. Luro, former Secretary, Education, NBCC released the anniversary souvenir which was given out to all the people present. He also released a book titled ‘Breakthru’ - a three part series of books for the age group of 19 to 21 years - a project of the NBCC GIFT Curriculum.  

Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC delivered the message on the topic “Abundant Life through Education”.  

Earlier, the programme started with candle march which was followed by Bible reading and prayer by Toshoshe Sema, former Secretary, Education, NBCC.  

Rev. Dr. Mar Atsongchanger, President, NBCC brought the greetings and a short sharing titled ‘Reminiscence’ was delivered by Rev. Arenla Longchar, former Secretary, Education and Communication, NBCC.  

A brief report of the department was presented by Dr. Botoholi, Secretary, Education and Communication Department, NBCC. There was also a video presentation of the department’s history and activities by Sentiyabang Ao, Media Coordinator, NBCC.  

Rev. Dr. M. Savi, School Coordinator, NBCC made the offertory prayer and special presentations were made by Baptist Higher Secondary School, Kohima and Children Choir, Sangtam Baptist Church, Kohima.  

The anniversary programme ended with a pronouncement of blessings by Rev. Kuzierang Thou, State Chaplain.  

T. Apok Jamir, President, Education and Communication chaired the event while Zanthunglo Eli Imti was the pianist.
