Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) in light of the 2011 Census which has started rolling directed all the Associations and Churches to extend their active support and co-operation towards the success of the ongoing Census Operation in Nagaland. The NBCC General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Anjo Keikung in a press note called upon all the Baptist Church leaders and members to rise up and use all in their power and authority to exercise their fundamental duty with utmost truth and honesty.
The NBCC stated that there had been reports of manipulations and illegal practices in the past and called on Christians to shun all such practices pointing out that the credibility and authenticity of the Census will have long term ramification. “This would include the promotion of fair political system, governance, development etc” stated the note. The NBCC, therefore, made a clarion call to all Christians, to seize the opportunity to act conscientiously in such a way as to leave behind a legacy of doing what is right for the sake of posterity and the generations to come by helping establish an accurate and reliable census on the state’s population in the ongoing Census 2011.
