Dimapur, June 27 (MExN): The Naga church, appreciative of the restoration of relations between the Ao community and the NSCN-K recently, states that such peaceful outreach is a “refreshing step” towards peace. In the peace between the two sides, is a also precedent for healing the whole Naga society, it was implied. Welcoming the exchange of the olive branch, Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) through its Peace Affairs Director Rev. L Kari Longchari stated the peace initiative is a positive contribution toward the Nagas’ march for peace. “It is our earnest desire and appeal that all such broken relationship between groups, communities and villages be healed and restored in the spirit of Christian forgiveness, trust and reconciliation and friendship” the NBCC stated. The church also expressed appreciation to concern various organizations especially the Nagaland GBs Federation and the DBs Association for their initiative to bridge the “gaps.”
