Kohima, July 7 (MExN): Special teachers training, a three day enrichment programme on dealing with special need children was organized by the Persons with Disability Commission, Education & Communication, Nagaland Baptist Church Council.
The programme was sponsored by Commissioner for Disabilities, Nagaland, from June 28 to 30, at State Council of Education, Research & Training (SCERT), Kohima. The opening programme was graced by Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC, Dr. Atha Vizol, Commissioner for Disability, Nagaland, and Diethono Nakhro, Member PWD Commission, NBCC.
Resource persons for the trainings and their topics respectively were Yambeni, Teeacers, Jo Foundation School-Sign Language; Annei, Speech Therapist-Speech Therapy; Dr. Kevi Angami, Physiotherapist-Physio theraphy; Mary, Special Educator, GRSS- Individualised Education Policy (IEP) & Teaching Learning Materials (TLM); Rev. Aheto zhimo-Appropriate Terminologies in Local dialects; Classroom Situation-City Church & GRSS. Rev. Dr. Ezamo Murry, Member PWD Commission, NBCC gave a brief closing remark. The programme was coordinated by Daniel Thong, Convener, PWD Commission, NBCC and attended by 36 participants.
