Chümoukedima, April 18 (MExN): Nagaland Beekeeping & Honey Mission (NBHM) organised a welcome and felicitation programmes for its new chairman, Obed Quinker at the Multi Utility Centre Sovima, Chümoukedima on April 18.
It was attended by Koeshu Yimkiung, Advisor of Youth Resources and Sports, Team Members and staff of NBHM along with a host of NDPP party workers, stated a press release received here.
Addressing the gathering, Obed Quinker said that he believes in ‘Team spirit’ and to succeed “we need to stand out and work hard.” Mentioning “our strength lies with the rustic beekeepers,” he said, “When we strengthen the lowest rung, we strengthen ourselves.”
He encouraged the Team to be their own critic to improve ourselves through innovation and up scaling of the Mission’s achievements and activities. “What the government has invested over the years in the Mission should be justified with the amount of revenue generated for the State through the beekeeping and honey sector,” he added.
Advisor Keoshu Yimkuing in his speech remarked that NBHM is a grassroots level Mission and through the initiative of the Mission, the grassroots have been benefited immensely. He said that he has come across many beekeepers who have benefited from the mission’s intervention and therefore, he urged the NBHM to remain motivated and provide the much needed encouragement and guidance to the farmers.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Sentiwabang Aier, NCS Additional Secretary Agriculture & Team Leader NBHM.
During the two sessions held during the programme, Team Member Neilazonuo Terhuja gave an ‘Overview of NBHM’ and Team Member Nzanbemo K Lotha presented on ‘Gaps and Priorities’.
