Nagaland Bhojpuri Samaj (NBS) on Sunday held its 7th felicitation programme for meritorious students with MLA Mmhonlumo Kikon as the chief guest at Christian Higher Secondary School, Dimapur.
Lauding the NBS for undertaking numerous social activities in the state, Kikon encouraged them to be a strong bridge towards roping in practical and doable projects in the state for the benefit of all. He harped on the dreams of many young leaders who wanted a corruption-free good governance in the midst of less democratic practices in the state.
He maintained that various investigations unearthing corrupt practices in the state in recent times were just a tip of the iceberg, adding “but the winds of change is blowing in Nagaland.” Kikon stressed on the need to change according to times and adapt the good culture of any society. He expressed optimism about positive change in the State with a “vibrant government at the centre.”
Kikon further told the students that their success was a beginning of their career which would be determined by hard work, determination and their goal. He encouraged them to continue in their endeavours at all times.
Scores of meritorious students from HSLC, HSSLC, Graduation and Post Graduation levels were felicitated. Representatives of various civil societies and political leaders also attended the programme.
