NBSE: Board students perform well in entrance exams 2018

Kohima, July 1 (MExN): The State of Nagaland opted for All India Joint Entrance Examination JEE (Main) for Engineering Courses from the year 2013 and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for Medical Courses in 2017. The Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) have been conducting Nagaland State Entrance Examination (NSEE) for the selection of students to undergo various Agri and allied coursed for the State quota.

“Our students’ performance and achievement in the entrance examinations i.e. JEE (Main), NEET and NSEE is indeed praiseworthy,” maintained NBSE, according to  a DIPR report.

The board made the comment after it undertook an exercise to identify the number of students and institutions who have secured the seats under the State quota, it said. It was done to apprise the institutions about the achievement and performance of NBSE students in the JEE (Main), NEET and NSEE entrance examinations for the year 2018, the Board. The finding has shown that out of 237 seats for the State quota, 187 seats were secured by students who passed their HSSLC Examination under NBSE, it added.

The common core syllabus for Science Stream which was introduced in the year 2011 and the transaction of the syllabus in the classrooms must have been the key factors behind this achievement

The numbers of seats for the various courses under the State quota for the year 2018 is given in the annexure. The name of the Boards and institutions is made available in the Board’s website (www.nbsenagaland.com).
