The Chairman NBSE, Asano Sekhose in a notification has informed to all concerned that
• Central Sector Scholarship Scheme for college and university students under the Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India has been included in the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) programme of the Government of India and scholarships are disbursed directly in the bank account of the beneficiaries from 1st January 2013 based on the eligibility lists furnished/uploaded by the State Education Boards.
• For online submission of applications for fresh and renewal of scholarship, a mechanism of National e-Scholarship (NeS) portal (http:// scholarships.gov.in/longin.do) has been developed and fresh scholarships awarded during the financial year 2015-16 were processed and disbursed through NeS portal.
• Aadhaar has been made mandatory for disbursement of all scholarships with effect from this financial year (2016-17) onwards. Therefore, separate Bank Account in the name of the beneficiary is to be opened and the same need to be seeded with the Aadhaar number to enable direct transfer of scholarship to the bank account of each beneficiary.
