 
                          
                  
DIMAPUR, JULY 3 (MExN): In the interest of students as well as to begin creating a better environment, the Nagaland Board of School Education (NBSE) has notified all heads of registered educational institution to take necessary action towards imposing ban on the use of plastics.
A notification issued by NBSE chairperson, Asano Sekhose on Wednesday reminded of the total ban imposed on all single-use plastic in Nagaland by the state government with a view to eradicate the menace of plastic and the various environmental and ecological challenges posed by the rampant use of plastics. It has therefore directed all schools to take necessary action on the issue.
Also, in continuation of the notification issued earlier, the NBSE reminded all registered institution to take appropriate measures on the following issues-
Prohibition on sale of junk food in and around the school campus and ban on hoarding advertisement of tobacco products and sale of any tobacco products as per Section 5 & 6 of COPTA Act 2003, which states that “no person shall sell, offer for sale or permit sale of, cigarettes or any other tobacco product in an area within a radius of one hundred yards of any educational institution.”
