NBS&G holds consultative meeting in Chümoukedima, Dimapur

Chümoukedima, May 22 (MExN): The State Headquarter Officials of the Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides (NBS&G) on their official tour at Chümoukedima held a consultative meeting with the District Bharat Scouts & Guides Association, at DC’s conference hall, Chümoukedima on May 20.

The visit was a part of their ongoing efforts to engage with district officials and to promote the values of scouting and Guiding across the State, stated a DIPR report. 

During their visit, officials of Nagaland Bharat Scouts & Guides initiated the induction ceremony, where Deputy Commissioner, Polan John, NCS was inducted as the president of District Bharat Scouts & Guides, Chümoukedima.

In his address, Polan John stated that through this movement the young people can learn, develop their potential, learn valuable life skills, and contribute to their communities.

He hoped that the consultative meeting with the district will be a collective commitment to nurture responsible, capable and self oriented youth in our State. Bharat Scouts & Guides are the pillar of discipline, values, honesty, integrity, and so with this movement in Chümoukedima district, the DC hoped that it will develop young people in achieving their physical, intellectual, spiritual and individuals.

During the consultative meeting, Kiyakhrienuo Solo highlighted that Bharat Scouts and Guides-SOC (G) emphasizes character development, leadership skills, and service to others. It aims to help young people become responsible citizens and contribute to building a better world. The BS&G is based on principles of duty to God, duty to others, and duty to self, and uses a system of progressive self-education through the Scout Promise and Law, she added. Further, she highlighted the history, core principles, values and motto of BSG.

The State Team who attended the consultative meeting consisted of Duoneinuokire, Vice president;  V K Shah, State Commissioner (S); Kuolibeizo Mepfhuo, State Commissioner (Rover); Chubanungla, State Commissioner (Bulbul);  Om Prakash Gupta, State Commissioner (Cub,); Thepfuzakie Angami, State Secretary; Pudil, Tsukru, State Treasurer; Kezhaleno Phira, Head Quarter Commissioner (Bulbul);  Vimezhonu Tetso, State Organising Commissioner (G); John Tochimong State Organising Commissioner (S);  R. Albert Solo, State Training Commissioner Solo, State Training Commissioner (S); Kiyakhrienuo Solo, State Training Commissioner (Guide) and Kekhrie Theûnuo, ASTC (S).
Later, reaffirmation of the Scouts and Guides promise were conducted, followed by visitation to Schools which have Scouts and Guides unit.

Dimapur: The State Headquarter Officials of the Nagaland Bharat Scouts and Guides (NBSG) on their official tour, held a consultative meeting with the District Bharat Scouts & Guides Association, Dimapur on May 21 at DC’s conference hall.

As president of BS&G, DC Dimapur Dr Tinojonghshi urged the educational institutions which have BS&G Units to take this opportunity in assisting the students in fostering leadership, discipline and values among the students. He remarked that today academics is not only the knowledge of books but requires physical intellectual improvement to be successful, hence he requested all to rededicate and support Bharat scouts and guides, stated a DIPR report. 

John Tochimong, SOC (Scout), highlighted that, BS&G is a voluntary, nonpolitical and educational movement. BS&G vision is to create a responsible citizen who can be helpful to the society and its mission is to contribute to the education of young people based on the Scout & Guide promise and Law. He pointed that Nagaland Bharat Scout & Guide was officially formed in 1967 and continuously working for young people and betterment of our State. He added that Dimapur district was officially formed in 2000 and had produced the largest number of Raja Puraskar and Rashtrapati Scarf. He requested all the heads of the institution to depute concerned Scout & Guide masters for higher training, so that they can upgrade themselves and give back quality skills to the young people. He also requested those institutions to reach out to those schools which don't have BS&G units.
The meeting deliberated on the potential area for the growth and development of the Bharat Scouts & Guides Movement in the District. 

The meeting was attended by District Education Officer, Dimapur; Sr Sub-Divisional Officer; District Sports Officer; District officials of BS&GA; Principal/Headmaster/Headmistress of Govt/Private Schools of Dimapur having Scout/Guide Units; Scouts Masters & Guide Captains of BS&G, Dimapur units and the President ANPSA Dimapur.

The session was chaired by VK Shah, State Commissioner (Scout), Nagaland State Bharat Scouts and Guides. John Tochimong, SOC (Scout), presented the key highlights and achievements of the Bharat Scouts and Guides in the state.
