DIMAPUR, MARCH 24 (MExN): In the Dimapur leg of the Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) Inter-school Under-16 Cricket Tournament currently underway, SD Jain Higher Secondary School will clash with G. Mhaisu School in the final. The two teams won their respective semi-finals matches played today.
SD Jain HSS made it to the final by defeating Zakiesato Memorial Higher Secondary School (ZMHSS) by 6 runs. Put in to bat, SD Jain HSS posted 114 (all-out) in 24.2 overs. ZMHSS fell short of the target getting all-out in 22 overs, while managing to score only 108.
In the other semi-finals game, G. Mhaisu School secured a comfortable 70-run win over Delhi Public School. G. Mhaisu posted 91 (all-out) in 15 overs. DPS could manage only 21 (all-out) in return. The final match between SDJain HSS and G.Mhasiu School will start at 9:00 am, Sunday.
Government Higher Secondary School, Chandmari set up a clash with Chandmari Higher Secondary School (CHSS) in the Kohima leg of the tournament. GHSS prevailed over Baptist High School in a low-scoring semi-finals encounter. GHSS comfortably won by 9 wickets, chasing down a target of 71 set by Baptist High in 11 overs. The final between GHSS and CHSS will take place on March 26.
As the Kohima and Dimapur legs draws to a close, the tournament is gathering steam in Zunheboto. In two matches played today, Cornerstone School and Olympic School registered wins in their respective games.
Cornerstone defeated Step By Step School by 35 runs. Cornerstone had set 130 for 7 in 25 overs. Step by Step fell short managing 95 in 25 overs, while losing 9 wickets.
Olympic School cruised to victory in the other game defeating Emmanuel School in an exciting run chase. Olympic School chased down the victory target of 113 in 23.2 overs with 3 wickets to spare. Earlier, Emmanuel School batted through the entire 25 overs (all-out) scoring 112.
