NCA to hold open trials for 2025–26 season

DIMAPUR, JUNE 2 (MExN): The Nagaland Cricket Association (NCA) has announced open trials for the selection of players for the upcoming 2025–26 domestic cricket season.

The trials will take place at the Sovima Cricket Ground and are scheduled to begin on June 17. The categories and dates are as follows: Boys Under-16 trials will be held on June 17, Men’s Under-19 on June 18 and 19, Men’s Under-23 on June 20 and 21, Senior Men’s on June 23 and 24, Women’s Under-15 and Under-19 on June 25, and Women’s Under-23 and Senior Women’s on June 26.

Eligibility is determined by age group. Girls in the U15 category must be born between September 1, 2010, and August 31, 2013, while U16 boys must be born between September 1, 2009, and August 31, 2011. For U19 (both boys and girls), the cutoff is September 1, 2005, and for U23 (men and women), the cutoff is September 1, 2002.

All aspiring players must register through their respective District Cricket Associations. At the time of reporting, participants are required to present a recommendation letter, original birth certificate, Aadhaar card, and three years of academic certificates, where applicable. The reporting time is set for 8:30 a.m.

Players must wear white playing attire and attend the trials at their own expense. The selection process will include a fitness test and document verification.
