KOHIMA, NOVEMBER 14 (MExN): Major General Anurag Vij, Additional Director General (ADG) of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), North East Region, visited the NCC Group Headquarters, Kohima, from November 11 to 13.
The ADG was formally received at the Group Headquarters, where he interacted with cadets and commended them for their high standards of drill. The Group Commander briefed him on NCC activities in Nagaland and measures taken to expand the organisation’s outreach in remote and interior areas of the state, a PRO & Spokesperson, Ministry of Defence, Manipur, Nagaland and Southern Arunachal Pradesh stated.

Major General Vij appreciated the Kohima Group for organising Border Outreach camps as part of the Vibrant Village initiative through the 25 Nagaland Battalion NCC in the border districts of Noklak, Mon and Kiphire. He noted the interaction of cadets with villagers to spread awareness about various government welfare schemes.
He also lauded the conduct of the Yuva Aapda Mitra Camp, aimed at training cadets in disaster management to serve as a pool of first responders during emergencies.

During the visit, the ADG inspected air training assets at the 1 Nagaland Air Squadron in Dimapur. He later visited Tsitikhema in Chümoukedima, the proposed site for the upcoming NCC Training Academy.
