Kohima January 18 (MExN): The 3 (NH) Bn Assam Rifles along with NCC cadets from various parts of India under the aegis of Kohima NCC group arranged for 447 NCC cadets to visit the oldest post of Assam Rifles – ‘Chancellor Hill’ commonly known as ‘Charlie Hill’ or ‘C Hill’.
The visit was organised over a period of four days from January 10 to 13. The cadets and their instructors attended the narration of a brief history of the 3 Naga Hills Battalion, the oldest battalion of Assam Rifles followed by an informal talk on Assam Rifles including career prospects and benefits of affiliating themselves with the organisation.
Col C Kower, PRO (Defence) in a press release informed that a weapon and equipment display was also organised for the cadets. Experts briefed the enthusiastic and inquisitive lot of cadets.
The visiting team comprised of NCC Officers, 23 NCC Staff and 447 NCC cadets from 16 different NCC Directorates spread over various parts of the country.
