NCC cadets offered a glimpse of AR life

Dimapur, January 12 (MExN): NCC Cadets attending the recently concluded Special National Integration Camp (SNIC) were given a glimpse of the routine and functioning of an AR unit when they were offered a guided tour of 37 Assam Rifles Battalion under the aegis of 6 Sector Assam Rifles on January 7 and 8.   The twelve days SNIC of National Cadets Corps which started on December 30, 2015 concluded on January 10 at Patkai Christian College, Chumukedima and approximately 600 cadets from all over India visited attended the camp.   According to an AR press note received here, the cadets were shown various institutions and departments of the unit during the visit and were also apprised about their routine.

  The NCC cadets were also sensitised about the operational achievements of 37 Assam Rifles and initiatives of the Battalion towards welfare of the locals during their interaction with the Commandant, it added. Besides, a weapon and equipment display was organised as a part of visit.   The AR further informed that apart from the visitation, 37 Assam Rifles has also rendered assistance to NCC Group, Kohima for smooth conduct of SNIC.   The aim of conducting the tour was to give NCC cadets an insight into a soldier’s life and to motivate them to take-up Armed Forces as a career option in future, the AR noted.
