NCC cadets trained on disaster management

Punglwa, October 5 (MExN): One day disaster management training was organized at Sainik School Punglwa (SSP) on October 4 to train NCC cadets of the school in life saving skills. This training is a part of the ongoing IV Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) of NL (I) Sainik School Coy, NCC.  

A team of experts from SDRF CD/HG led by SI Thesuohie conducted training and demonstrations on Emergency Rescue Methods, CPR/FBAO, Bandaging/Splinting and Fire Fighting. The training gave the NCC cadets firsthand knowledge of rescue and life saving skills, which can be effectively utilized by them in saving lives in the face of natural calamities, a press release stated.  

CATC is a regular 10-day annual training programme of NL (I) Sainik School Coy, NCC wherein NCC cadets of Sainik School Punglwa undergo training in various disciplines and obtains NCC A and B certificates. This year, a total of 41 SD cadets and 102 JD cadets are participating in the camp.  

On the day, the camp was also inspected by Col KS Dalal, Dy Group Commandant, Kohima Group HQ NCC. He interacted with the cadets and delivered a motivational lecture on the importance and role of NCC cadets in areas like social service and youth management.
