NCC cadets visit 37 Assam Rifles

Dimapur, July 14 (MExN): Approximately 600 NCC girl cadets hailing from various colleges across Nagaland, undergoing Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC) got a glimpse of life in Assam Rifles during their visit to 37 Assam Rifles.  

Cadets were familiarised with various institutes and departments in an Assam Rifles Battalion and routine of the soldiers. The cadets also got an opportunity to witness the new generation weapon systems and equipment held with an Assam Rifles Battalion. The NCC girl cadets were also taught techniques for setting up a camp site and weapon training.  

A lecture cum demonstration on ‘first-aid techniques’ was also conducted  to teach NCC Girl Cadets about life saving techniques that are critical during medical emergencies.  

Commandant, 37 Assam Rifles interacted with cadets and apprised them about ‘contribution of Assam Rifles in North-East India and Armed Forces as a career option for women’. A press release stated that the cadets were highly motivated with the talk and interaction and expressed their desire to join Armed Forces in future.
