NCC cadets witness display of AN-32 transport aircraft

Dimapur, July 19 (MExN): One AN-32 transport aircraft landed at Dimapur airport on July 19, which has came for a static display for the 400 odd Air Wings cadets of NCC of Nagaland and the North Eastern States congregated at Nagaland Police Central School for the Vayu Sainik Camp of NCC.  

A press release stated that the Air Wing NCC Cadets got a feel of Dimapur airport, a first visit for many and a close look at a real aeroplane and a helicopter, a first for most. The Cadets were given a briefing on the characteristics of this medium lift aircraft and the various roles it performs like carrying passengers, paratroopers, air ambulance, VIPs, heavy drop of guns and vehicles as well as disaster relief by supply dropping of food, medicine, water, clothing and essential items. The briefing was carried out by the crew of the AN-32 consisting of Sqn Ldr Rehman, Flt Lt Kushal and a daring lady pilot, Flying Officer Sumangla.  

HQ Eastern Air Command of Indian Air Force at Shillong dispatched the AN-32 on the request of the NCC Cadets of Nagaland and North East States.  

Mughavi Zhimo, Director of Dimapur airport and MK Sharma, Regional Executive Director, Guwahati coordinated on behalf of Airport Authority of India while Sqn Ldr Chanchal Kishore of 1 Naga Land Air Squadron NCC, Dimapur organized the complete event
