NCC Combined Annual Training Camp concludes

Peren, October 21 (MExN): Nagaland (NL) Independent (I) Sainik School Company NCC organised its 72nd Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC-72nd) for the training year 2024-25 from October 11 to 20. 

A press release received here stated that during the ten days’ camp the cadets were imparted basic knowledge of weapon training, weapon display, firing, disaster management, tent pitching, fire fighting, skill development, cyber security, prevention of HIV and aids, first aid etc. conduct of drill, volleyball, basketball, tug of war and cultural programme competition were the other highlights of the camp.

A total of 177 cadets participated, from Junior Division (JD) - Army- 80, Senior Division (SD)- Army- 97 cadets from Sainik School Punglwa, St Joseph College Jakhama, Tetso College Dimapur, Dimapur Govt College Dimapur, Peren Government College, Peren  and  Modern College Piphema.

One Associate NCC Officer, three Care Taker Officers alongwith Permanent NCC Instructors from Sainik School Punglwa and 24 Nagaland NCC Battalion Kohima were part of this prestigious camp. The entire strength was divided into Alpha, Bravo and Charlie companies. The camp provided the cadets an invaluable military training, life skills and fostering a sense of discipline and camaraderie.

The closing ceremony was graced by Lt Col Amit Chaudhary, Officer Commanding NL (I) Sainik School Coy NCC, in which the Cadets put up impressive cultural Bonanza. The overall Best Trophy was bagged by Charlie (C) Coy Speaking on the occasion Camp Commandant and Officer Commanding commended the enthusiastic participation of the Cadets in all the activities and also felicitated the prize winners.
