NCC Directorate NER presented citation for contribution to development of youth

Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, La Ganesan today presented citation to NCC directorate, North East Region in recognition of the commendable contribution of NCC to the development of the youth in the state at Raj Bhavan Kohima today. 

Speaking at the ceremony, governer La Ganesan said that NCC Directorate NER has consistently showcased its prowess in developing well-rounded individuals. 

A press release from the PRO Raj Bhavan said the Governor also commended the officers and instructors who have led with vision and integrity. 

He said the award reflects the hard work, perseverance, and the spirit of unity that the cadets embody. 

“They have demonstrated exceptional discipline, resilience, and a commitment to the ideals of the National Cadet Corps. They are the future leaders of our nation, and this honor is a stepping stone toward the greatness that lies ahead of them,” Governor said. 

He also appreciated the steadfast support rendered by the Department of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland to NCC in the state.

Speaking about NCC cadets from Nagaland, the Governor also pointed out that the accomplishments of cadets from Nagaland, particularly in the past few years, resonate beyond this award, inspiring not only their peers but also the communities they serve. 

Governor La Ganesan mentioned about the NCC girls cadet marching down the Katravya Path on January 26 showcasing the potential of young Nagaland to the rest of the country and the world.  

“The various camps and adventure activities they organized, like the All India Trekking Camp held in Kohima, have provided a wonderful opportunity for the youth to showcase their talent and mingle with youth from diverse cultural backgrounds, he further added and said that training, exposure, and motivation have empowered our cadets to join the defense forces, other uniformed and civil services as well as the corporate sector.

The governor also highlighted that to build and develop the nation; we need youth organizations such as NCC, to become a beginning of change rather than an end. 

The Governor further asked the cadets saying to remember their responsibility- to continue being exemplary citizens, to inspire others, and to uphold the values that the NCC instills in each of them. 

Major General, Gagan Deep, Additional Director General NCC, NER received the citation on behalf of the Directorate and he also delivered welcome address. Vote of thanks was pronounced by NCC Kohima Group Commander, Brig. Dipanker Saha.
