Cadets, Associated NCC officers and instructors of the army during the plantation drive held on August 28.
Kohima, August 28 (MExN): NCC Cadets of 24 Nagaland (I) Coy NCC Kohima under the aegis of Group headquarter NCC Kohima conducted a tree plantation drive at Kigwema Government high School on August 28. Cadets of junior division (Boys and Girls), Associated NCC officers and instructors of the army participated in the drive.
A large number of medicinal and ornamental plants were planted by the cadets. The importance of trees in maintaining the delicate environmental balance was explained to the cadets. The cadets were also encouraged to plan at least one tree on their birthday as a token of their gratitude to Mother Nature.
Col Daniel Lotzem, Commanding Officer of 24 Nagaland (i) Coy NCC Kohima in a press release acknowledged Forest Department, Kohima by providing free tree saplings for the plantation drive.
