Dimapur, June 7 (MExN): On World Environment Day, June 5, the Nagaland Community Conserved Areas Forum (NCCAF) along with Nagaland Empowerment of People through Economic Development (NEPED) undertook collection of green organic vegetables from the conserved areas for distribution at all 11 district headquarters in the state.
A joint press release from the NCCAF and NEPED stated that “The venture was to share the blessings of our conserved areas and orchards with our people who are quarantined and also to show our solidarity with the frontline workers who are selflessly fighting the pandemic throughout the State during these uncertain times.”
This year’s partnership venture, it said has been helped bring in focus how ‘Mother Nature provides our many needs.’ Nagaland is a proud state with so much green cover still being maintained, courtesy the village councils and the people, upholding the rich tradition of our forefathers who lived with their needs met from the bounty of their forests, the release stated.
