DIMAPUR, JUNE 24 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur, while reiterating the call for peaceful ULB elections in the district, has appealed that no leaders of any organizations, individuals, politicians, residents outside their jurisdiction of wards should venture into the affairs of DMC election in other wards with intention to help win favored candidates through undemocratic and unlawful activities/means on polling day.
A press release from the NCD also appealed to all residents of the wards covered under DMC not to go to other wards to support a candidate win the poll through unfavorable/unfair means. This, it stated, is “totally condemnable as it is unethical practice against sacred Naga customary law and admirable democratic life of people/citizens.”
“Any individual/group or organizations interfering/creating problem in any other wards shall be doing so of their own risk and any untoward incidents or situations, they will be held responsible,” the NCD added.
