Dimapur, April 25 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) has commended the members of the Naga People’s Front (NPF) Youth Wing, Dimapur Unit, for undertaking a cleanliness drive at the Old Naga Cemetery in Lake View Colony on Saturday.
In a statement, the NCD said the youth wing carried out voluntary social work by clearing thick bushes and cleaning tombs at the cemetery, which had been in a neglected condition.
The council said it has been facing difficulties in maintaining the Old Naga Cemetery while focusing on the upkeep of the New Naga Cemetery at Zani village in Dimapur. It added that it had been considering involving churches in the town to take up such maintenance work.
However, members of the NPF Youth Wing took the initiative upon noticing the poor condition of the cemetery and carried out the cleaning drive on their own, the statement said.
The NCD noted that the action reflected a strong sense of leadership among the youth and a spirit of service to the public.
