NCD & CSOs praise Dimapur Police for swift arrests in ATM robbery case

DIMAPUR, MARCH 19 (MExN): The Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) and its affiliated organizations -Dimapur Naga Students' Union, Naga Women Hoho Dimapur, GB Union (Sadar) Dimapur, Dimapur Urban Colony Chairmen's Federation and the 20 Naga tribal Hohos based in Dimapur have commended the Dimapur Police for their efficient handling of an ATM robbery case, which resulted in the arrest of five suspects within 20 days.

In a press statement, the NCD and its affiliated organizations expressed appreciation for the police's quick and effective action, noting that this achievement is rare in other Northeast states. It noted that the criminals, who are reported to be non-residents of Dimapur, were linked to organized crime groups in Hojai and Bokajan in Assam. They are described as highly skilled professionals, using sophisticated equipment to carry out the robbery.

The investigation initially faced challenges as the robbers had intentionally obscured the ATM’s CCTV footage. However, the Dimapur Police, under the leadership of Commissioner Kevithuto Sophie and Additional Commissioner Imkongsangba, were able to track down the culprits with impressive intelligence and investigative methods.

The NCD has urged the government to recognize and reward the police for their dedication and hard work in maintaining law and order in Dimapur. Additionally, the organization has warned citizens to remain vigilant against outsiders who may pose a threat to public safety, particularly criminals entering Dimapur with malicious intent.
