NCD for faster work on Dimapur over-bridge

Dimapur, November 13 (MExN): Expressing concern over the slow progress of the Dimapur over-bridge construction between Golaghat Road Junction and Burma Camp, the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) today called for the expediting of the work.

Hence, it urged the contractor to employ more workers and labourers to speed up the construction process and alleviate road communication issues, particularly for school and college students and the public.

The NCD has observed the slow pace of work and noted public complaints regarding the insufficient number of workers assigned to complete the urgent project, it added.

Further, the council noted that with the festive season approaching and Dimapur being the state's commercial hub, many marketers from the hill districts will be flocking to the city for Christmas and New Year shopping.

If the bridge remains unfinished, they will face significant hardships, while both domestic and foreign visitors attending the Hornbill Festival would face similar situation, it added.

Thus, the NCD urged the concerned authorities and the contractor to expedite the work and complete the bridge as soon as possible.

It also expressed appreciation for the government's decision to dismantle the old, precarious bridge and construct a new one over the railway.
