It was founded in a joint venture between YouthNet and SMARTER Nagaland. NCDC offers several soft skills programmes that are exclusively designed to suit various audiences.
A press release issued by the YouthNet stated that in the last 12 months more than 2000 participants: 1400 college students, 500 job seekers, 35 teachers, 120 officers, 50 Government office staff and 50 professionals in the hotel industry have been successfully trained.
YouthNet believes that professionalism in the workplace can change the entire outlook of our present work culture – both government and private. Through their training consultant, Talichila Imchen, they have designed an exclusive 4-day programme called “Professional Skills Development” that focuses on Confidence, Motivation, Self Esteem, Personal Grooming and Social Etiquette, Verbal Communication, Business Emailing, Assertiveness, Time Management, Conflict Management, Decision Making and Problem Solving.
College trainings have been extremely successful at St. Joseph’s College, Jakhama, all campuses of Nagaland University, Japfü Christian College and many more. It has facilitated this programme to 120 officers at the Nagaland Civil Secretariat and Directorate of Evaluation. The response from the participants has been extremely positive. “Many of them have commended the interactive style, the facilitator’s knowledge & approach, and felt that this was one of the best training programmes they have attended in their career, being the first of its kind,” the release stated further. YouthNet and SMARTER Nagaland aims to offer this programme to all departments and institutions across the state.
