Mokokchung, September 13 (MExN): The District Level Committee for Narcotic Coordination Centre (NCORD) conducted inspections of 78 pharmacies across Mokokchung town on September 9 and 10 following directives from the district administration.

During the inspection, five pharmacies were found to be selling expired drugs and were issued strict warnings. They were also required to sign bond agreements. In addition, it was observed that 18 medical shops lacked CCTV cameras, and 23 shops did not maintain their H, H1, and X drug registers as required by the directives.

Seven pharmacies were closed during the inspection. However, no narcotic or illegal drugs were found in any of the shops.

Following the inspections, several store owners voluntarily visited the Chief Medical Office to retrieve the necessary registers. The operation was part of a broader effort to combat drug abuse and ensure compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act of 1940.
