NCP nod to Naga Common Platform

Kohima, July 29 (MExN): The Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) Nagaland state unit in its meeting of all the state committee members and state office bearers convened by newly elected NCP state president Dr. Chumben Murry, minister for agriculture, has resolved to extend utmost support and cooperation to the formation of Naga Common Platform which was adopted as per a resolution on March 7, 2009, to restore “a genuine peace in the land of Nagas”. Held on July 28 last at Hotel Japfu, the meeting also unanimously reaffirmed its commitment to DAN coalition under the leadership of Neiphiu Rio, Chief Minister of Nagaland.

Meanwhile, S Pangnyu Phom, parliamentary secretary for rural development and REPA have been appointed as political advisor-cum- convenor of Disciplinary Action Committee. The meeting also unanimously assigned the state general secretaries in charge of the various districts as; Pukyung Phom - for Tuensang, Mon and Kiphire, Chinny Magh- Kohima and Phek, Miathau Krose- Dimapur and Peren while S. Azio Kithan, general secretary (Adm) is given additional charge of finance secretary.

For Wokha and Longleng districts, the respective elected members will look after it.

Further, Advocate Shenthungo Ezung and Advocate Lirila Sangtam will be legal cell convenor and co-convenor respectively. Dr. Yiben Tungoe will be the chairman of medical cell and Abemo Humtsoe as the general secretary of Nationalist Youth Congress (NYC), a release received here said today.
