NCP office inaugurated at Dimapur

DIMAPUR | MAY 12 : The Nagaland state NCP formally inaugurated its office in Dimapur located at Kuda village ‘A’ (Nagarjan) on Thursday, which was attended by senior state NCP leaders and party workers from different districts.
NCP Nagaland president Neiba Ndang in his address at the inaugural function said that though the party has an office in Kohima, it has become necessary to establish an office in Dimapur, given the fact that Dimapur is the commercial hub and nerve centre of Nagaland and that networking with people is much easier in Dimapur.
The state NCP president said in order for the NCP to grow, the party needs a strong and solid foundation within the party, which can be achieved through transparency and understanding amongst party members, loyalty to each other and following party ethics. “When we follow these simple guidelines, no outside force can penetrate or infiltrate into our party fold and pollute it,” Ndang said.
Stating that NCP is a national party with a regional mindset, Ndang added, “the wishes and desires of the people is respected, the people in the grassroots are our top priority and the voice f the people is our command.”
Former minister Imtilemba Sangtam who recently joined the NCP in his speech also exhorted party workers to strengthen and build the party though cohesiveness, sincerity and hard work.
He however cautioned the party workers against indulging in “negative politics.”
General secretary (Admn), NCP Nagaland, Miathou Krose in his welcome address, welcomed former Imtilemba Sangtam and others for joining NCP to strengthen the party. State NCP working president, Er. Levi Rengma, chaired the function and state NCP general secretary, M Newmai, proposed vote of thanks.
On the occasion, the state NCP president also announced names of the NCP Nagaland office bearers and other officials.

'NPF not practicing coalition dharma'

Apparently peeved at the unilateral decision of the NPF party to field its own candidate in the concluded by-election to 26 Aonglenden assembly seat, the NCP Nagaland today reminded that a coalition government can only succeed if there is proper coordination among its partners.
“Coalition works on mutual respect and proper consultation among constituent partners. All policy matters and important issues are to be discussed and decided at the meeting of coordination committee consisting of all coalition parties,” said NCP Nagaland president Neiba Ndang in his address at the inauguration of the NCP office in Dimapur.
The NPF-led DAN government also includes two national parties, the NCP and BJP. However, the two parties do not have any legislators at present due to “defection” of two BJP legislators two years back and two NCP legislators on January 12 this year, to the NPF. Neiba said that though the two NCP legislators had defected to the NPF without the party’s consent, NCP had on January 20 last, re-affirmed the party’s decision to continue with the coalition spirit.
He said the “solo decision” of the NPF to field a candidate of their choice without informing or consulting other DAN partners, was another example of “how they are neglecting their lied partners in many of the decision makings, and by observing their attitude they are definitely going against the norms of the coalition government.”
Earlier, the state BJP had also expressed reservation over the ‘big brother’ attitude of the NPF party. Going by the strained relation among DAN partners, the regional NPF party might have to fight the 2013 assembly election on its own.
