DIMAPUR, AUGUST 22 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) has demanded open tender for all contract and supply works in Nagaland as per government memorandum, where only NCSU registered identity card holders are eligible for the tender.
A press note from the NCSU informed that various departments are awarding contract and supply works through table tender, without inviting open tender. “Such practices are illegal and total violation of norms & objectives of the State Government,” it stated. It therefore demanded that such practices immediately stop and all the work orders issued through table tender be cancelled. The NCSU further called for fresh open tender to invite all the eligible contractors in open competition.
It expressed regret that this has been going on despite repeated representations to the state government and all the departments for strict implementation of government standing order regarding tenders.
The NCSU deputed its Union Officials Action Committee to all the Head of Departments (HOD) to ensure the government order is followed. It further directed the Union’s district units to check all the HoDs in their respective districts and submit report to the head office for further necessary action.
It further requested all NCSU district units to check those who have dual registration in other unions, and informed that such cases would lead to cancellation of membership. It also cautioned that any contractors, firm or company without valid identity card (of NCSU) “will be dealt with stern action.”
