The Nagaland Contractors’ & Suppliers’ Union (NCSU) organised Advent Christmas-cum-felicitation of the best traffic award 2024 at Hotel Japfü, Kohima on December 18.
L/Nk Visekule (South Traffic Control) and T/C S Benjamin Patton (North Traffic Control) been conferred with the Best Traffic Award 2024 for female and male category respectively and received Rs. 10,000 each.
Jonathan Mesen, pastor Rengma Baptist Church was the speaker of the programme. He shared Christmas message and further encouraged the contractors and suppliers put God first in their work. He said people should ask God to deliver them from the physical and spiritual ailments and decay. Mesen said God would deliver anyone who honestly repent and come to him anywhere and at any point of time.
NCSU President Pele Khezhie urged upon the members to stay united and continue to work for prosperous Nagaland. Khezhie said while the contractors give their best, even if there is one per cent mistake, people raise fingers on them. In this, he asked them not to be discouraged but to stand with each other and continue to do better infrastructure development in the state as contract and supply is the only major industry of Nagaland. He said that NCSU has instituted Best Traffic Award in 2013 to recognize the service and contribution of the traffic personnel in Kohima.
Khezhie appreciated the traffic personnel for their hand work in manning the traffic regulations in the best possible at all times. He also requested SP Kohima to consider the award recipients prospects during the promotion in service.
Kohima SP Teisovisie Metha lauded the NCSU officials and members for being one of the matured unions in the state with all tribes staying united and working for the development of the state. He also acknowledged the NCSU for instituting the award since 2013 and encouraging the traffic personnel of the state capital Kohima.
Felicitation of the best traffic award was led by NCSU general secretary John Kath. The programme was moderated by N. Neilo Koza, vice president NCSU while NCSU secretary Nzanbemo Tungoe delivered welcome address. Povotso Lohe, legal advisor NCSU and Y Yanger Imchen, Advisor NCSU pronounced invocation and benediction respectively. Inato Assumi presented a special number. Vilelie Khamo also attended the programme. Vote of thanks was proposed by Manya Sipong, vice president NCSU.
