NCSU Kiphire, Longleng units support head office

Kiphire/Longleng, October 12 (MExN): The Kiphire and Longleng units of Nagaland Contractors and Suppliers Union (NCSU) have supported their head office on its allegation against Maytas & Gayatri (JV) with regard to SARDP project in Nagaland.  

In separate press statements, NCSU Kiphire unit accused Maytas & Gayatri (JV) of “total failure” in construction of four projects under SARDP-Phase 1 in Nagaland, while the Longleng unit accused the company of abandoning the construction of road under the project.  

A press statement from Holise Sangtam, President, NCSU Kiphire unit asserted that Maytas & Gayatri (JV) should not be awarded another project in Nagaland as “they have miserably failed in the first project in our state.” Appreciating the NCSU head office for it fight for justice, the unit reacted against Commissioner & Secretary, Works & Housing, Government of Nagaland dismissing NCSU head office’s statement. If the Commissioner & Secretary is really concerned for the people of Nagaland, NCSU Kiphire unit stated, he should take up the issue with the union ministry for immediate completion of the project before any new work is started.  

Meanwhile, OS Yiman, President, NCSU Longleng unit alleged that “the worst affected is Longleng district as our road is completely damaged due to haphazard construction of the SARDP project by the Maytas & Gayatri which is abandoned for the last six years creating untold misery due to massive destruction of our road.” The NCSU Longleng unit also maintained that the statement of Commissioner & Secretary, Works & Housing against the NCSU head office is “baseless and hurt the sentiments of the Nagas in general and Longleng district in particular when NCSU is fighting for justice.”
