NCYM condoles

Kohima, January 14 (MExN): Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM), along with the rest of the Diocese of Kohima, has expressed sadness over the demise of Rev. Fr. Everic J. Paes SJ on January 6, 2014 in Pune. A condolence message from NCYM spokesperson, Clement Odyuo stated that since the late 1990s, Father Everic worked for more than 6 years in Nagaland as a Spiritual Director in the formation houses. A popular pastor and confessor, he had ever since been coming regularly to preach retreats to various groups and had been to Nagaland as recently as a year ago, it added.

The note stated that Father Everic was known for his humility, austerity and poverty which he practiced to a fault. “His students and wards remember him for his accessibility. His confreres know him for his values of community bonding and a deep experience of God.”
NCYM and the Diocese of Kohima further offered condolences to Father Everic’s near and dear ones and his Jesuit confreres, while praying for God to grant the deceased
eternal rest.
