NDA 3rd Nagaland Fashion Week 2022 culminates

Chümoukedima, December 9 (MExN): The 3rd edition of the Nagaland Fashion Week 2022, organised by Nagaland Designers’ Association (NDA) was held at Nagaland Bamboo Resource Centre, Chümoukedima on December 7 and 8. 

The NDA team in a press release stated that held under the theme, ‘Naturally Nagaland – going glocal’ the event focuses on incorporating locally-produced organic fabrics into artistic concepts and expressions while giving it a commercial and brand value thereby aiming to promote and encourage the budding organic textile industry in Nagaland.

The inaugural was graced by special invitee Dr Tolto Mehta, team member, NBRC and special invitee Among Imkong, Dealer Principal ISUZU, Nagaland. The event was a five rounds showcase of collections by the designers on the respective themes: Hisinsha Tsela – Archaic-Rejuvenate; Tato Venyo – Quality Man; Temsusunep & Rhiisii Grace – Joie de vivre; Mitchel Dzüvichü – The Shadow’s Isle; Suresh Arubam – Wankhei and Rani Phi paired with Phanek Mayek Naibi and traditional attire of Pheijom and Lengyan. The showstopper was Nirupama Laishram and the event choreographer was Sanjeev Tamang. Opang Jamir was the host while Khrütsolü Vero serenaded the audience with her performance.

The event concluded on December 9 with Talinukshi PS to Minister Temjen Imna Along as special invitee and Sanny Pongener, Director, Department of Sericulture as guest of honour.

The final day was a five rounds showcase of collections by designers on the respective theme: Gitartha’s Kreation: KOINA-The Bridal Story; Maongla Jamir-Tux and Tiaras; Leishang Nakhedei-Warrior’s Legacy; Aien Keyho & Akanili Yeptho-Tongnusenmetsu (Rainbow); Nagaland Designers’ Association-The Silk Story. Athe Rhi was the host while artistes Dr T Imensanen Jamir, Nuvesalu Sakhamo and Aseno Metha enthralled the audience. 

Nagaland Fashion Week 2022 was sponsored by Department of Sericulture and Department of Tourism while the event partners were Food Kingdom -beverage, Ni Chuka - food and NLTV - media, Livemaster Studio - digital, Zip Sound System - sound and Shiu Lights - lighting.
