NDMA officials stress on sensitization

Dimapur, March 14 (DIPR): Director National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) R.K Singh and Consultant, Incident Response System, BB Godnayak expressed their appreciation to the Dimapur District Disaster Management Agency led by DC Dimapur N. Hushili Sema (IAS) at the successful conduct of the Mock Exercise in 5 places at Dimapur on March 13.

In an interaction with the observers and other departmental offices at DC’s Conference Hall, Singh stressed on need for more sensitization and to create awareness among the masses so as to enable them to be actively prepared to face any natural disaster when it strikes. Terming the mock drill exercise as a success he said that observers and officers were well aware of the incident Response System as well as their responsibility as assigned.

The Mega Mock  exercise which is the first of its kind held in Dimapur town, was termed as a good beginning and he said more efforts needs to be pulled  together to plan for the future. He further called on the media to step forward and to play active role during disaster.
