Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate Er. Kevisekho Kruse from 8th Western Angami A/C today said he is contesting the election with a vision ‘Stability & Development’.
“We should have a stable government and that is my number one priority,” he said while addressing a press conference at his residence in Lerie here. He advocated stable government for peace and development.
“The 12th House of Nagaland Assembly specially the last four years has put the state in total chaos leaving the people hungry and thirsty to have a change,” Kruse said. NDPP, he stated, is contesting the February 27 polls to bring the change.
The priority of NDPP, if elected to power, will be providing a stable government, which will automatically bring about overall development and progress into the State, he added.
Kruse, who was serving as the Chief Engineer of Public Health Engineering Department and retired voluntarily in July last year to contest the elections, said “the instable government and frequent change of the ministers hindered successful implementation of several welfare projects.”
“I have witnessed change of four ministers within my department during the four years in office and every new minister used to drop the previous projects and take up new creating confusion among the staff,” he alleged.
Such frequent change led to creation of widespread frustration even at the bureaucratic level hampering several developmental activities, Kruse added.
He therefore said the 13th House will witness an era of development as NDPP-BJP alliance will form the next government by crossing the magic figure.
Emphasizing on the need for youth and women empowerment, Kruse said, with government jobs reaching saturation point, NDPP will conduct rigorous skill development to encourage youths to take up entrepreneurship and also enter into private sector, hospital and tourism.
On women empowerment, he said, if need be reservation for women in decision making bodies would be granted in mass consultation with the general public.
Er. Kruse expressed that NDPP-BJP alliance chief ministerial candidate Neiphiu Rio will be able to provide stable government, adding “We are looking forward to an era of development under his leadership.”
Er. Kruse also announced his other priorities: accelerating economic progress through various means like education, eco-tourism, health, sports, agro based activities, strong commitment in democratic values, social and economic justice, Naga identity and cultural values, adoption of good government policies for efficient administration and revenue generation, good road connectivity, solving unemployment problems through skill development and job creation, women and youth empowerment, equal attention to both urban and rural sectors development, moral and spiritual development and conservation of environment.
