NDPP candidates share their visions for Nagaland

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate Er Zale Neikha from 15th Southern Angami II A/C today said that he would accord top priority to empowerment and growth of youth, if elected to the state legislative assembly. Er Neikha said he would like to exercise positive role for uplifting the status of the youth in Naga society.  

Interacting with media persons here, Er Neikha expressed concern over the alarming rate of unemployment problem in the state. Admitting that it would be impossible task for any government to accommodate all the educated youth in the government set up, Er Neikha said that he would frame a comprehensive strategy for mobilization of youth for self reliant and gainful employment opportunities in the private sector.  

Er Neikha said he would like to encourage entrepreneurship and skill development so that the educated youth coupled with their expertise can work elsewhere. He said he would like to work towards uplifting the grassroot economy by facilitating the farming communities in the area of piggery, poultry and other sectors related to agriculture, adding that he yearn to work towards financial stability of the farmers.  

Assuring to live upto the principle of the NDPP motto ‘Facta non Verba: Deeds not Words,’ he said “If elected, I will perform and deliver my best service to the people.” On his entry into politics, Er Neikha said he have involved in the different activities through different organizations and through the experiences garnered, “it dawned on me that I need a bigger arena to initiate and guide my people towards a better and brighter future.”  

Er Neikha stated that he choose this platform “to take my father’s dream and legacy forward into the present generation and make a healthy contribution towards peace, progress and development in Naga society.”  

Sharing his vision for the state of Nagaland, he said would work to foster peace and unity among the people and to be an agent of development and bring Nagas at par with the rest of the country and the world. For the constituency, he said he would work for all round development of the constituency.  

‘We should have a stable government’

Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) candidate Er Vikho-o Yhoshu from 14th Southern Angami- I A/C today exuded confidence that the state would soon see a ray of change for better through a newly floated NDPP. Yhoshu lamented that despite being in the ruling bench in the 12th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, the elected representatives could hardly perform due to the internal crisis. Nonetheless, he was optimistic that NDPP would be able perform better and bring about better change under decisive leadership.  

“We should have a stable government,” he said adding that the NDPP party’s manifesto has emphasized on decisive leadership and also looking forward a solution to the long standing Naga political issue.  

Talking to media persons here today, he said the 14th Southern Angami- I A/C happened to be in the opposition for 20 years before he joined politics.  

“We have so many needs and also lacking behind in so many aspects,” he said adding that a lot of things are require to be done, especially for the younger generation.  

He said that certain progressive action plan needs to be framed for the numerous sections of educated youth to address unemployment problem since everyone cannot be fitted into government job.  

He said that special emphasis will be given towards bringing about a drastic policy decision on the existing education system to impart skill education so that Naga society does not continue to merely produce graduates and post-graduates but they will be equipped with knowledge and skill to be accommodated even in private sectors or become self-employed.  

He advocated that a time has come to create job avenues for educated unemployed youth in other sectors to avoid unpleasant eventualities.  

Sharing his vision, Er. Yhoshu said that he will focus on good road connectivity and communication system as it plays driving force in taking the developmental activities forward.  

He also expressed ambitious plan to bring new technology to the farmers since agriculture form the main occupation of the people of Nagaland.  

He subscribed that the farmers need to adopt new technology from traditional method of farming for a sustainable agricultural activities.
