Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio said that even though he has been declared as chief ministerial candidate of NDPP-BJP alliance, he alone cannot land in the formation of the government without the required number of the elected members.
Stating this at the public rally of NDPP at Chozuba, he called upon the party workers to put their best effort to ensure the NDPP-BJP alliance candidates comes victorious in the ensuing general election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly. He requested the electorates of 18th Chozuba A/C to elect NDPP candidate Kudecho Khamo to strengthen his leadership and the party.
Expressing optimistic that NDPP–BJP alliance would form the next government, he also called upon the people to take the right decision and make a choice to be in the ruling government or stay in opposition bench. He said NDPP will make a concerted effort towards the successful implementation of Narendra Modi’s government developmental programmes and schemes. He said that special emphasis will be given on improving the living standard of the people including youth and women empowerment. Rio said the NDPP is committed to protect Naga identity, culture and traditions, and also safeguard religious ethics.
NDPP president Chingwang Konyak said the party will work towards transparency, accountability and fight against corruption and restore governance system. “Our government will be a responsive government,” he said. He said Nagaland needs transformation and change for which NDPP has been formed to make it happen.
Sharing his vision and ideologies, Kudecho Khamo assured to work wholeheartedly to improve the socio-economic and the living condition of the people with special emphasis on providing better road connectivity, good health centres and educational institutions. Exuding confident that Rio can provide a stable government, he made a fervent appeal to the people to cast their votes in his favour and enable him to represent them in the ruling government.
NDPP working president Nuzota Swuro, BJP Nagaland general secretary Eduzu Thelu-o, NDPP Phek region president Mosonyi Domeh, Zaveyi Nyekha, Veprasa Nyekha, Kholie Keyho, Vepozoyi Theyo and Kutipra Lohe also spoke at the rally. The function was chaired by Medovoi Medeo, president NDPP 18th Chozuba A/C.
