DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 7 (MExN): The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) today expressed happiness over the announcement of the BJP-NDPP alliance and said it was enthused to “work under the dynamic leadership of the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Neiphiu Rio, three consecutive time Chief Minister and Member of Lok Sabha from Nagaland.”
With the declaration of the alliance, the NDPP appealed to all its rank and file to extend full cooperation to the partners of the alliance in their respective constituencies. “All NDPP members in those seats where the party has not fielded candidates are required to extend support to the BJP candidates in every possible manner. We also appeal to our alliance partners and workers to extend support to NDPP candidates in the constituencies where NDPP has fielded candidates,” a press note from the NDPP media and communication committee stated.
The party said that the alliance must work in unison to achieve the goals of the Prime Minister’s development agenda and bring lasting peace to Nagaland.
“The alliance assures the people that we will extend our fullest support to the peace process and extend all possible cooperation in our common endeavor towards bringing a political solution that is honorable acceptable to the people.
The alliance is committed towards bringing good and transparent governance and draw a new roadmap of progressive development for Nagaland after the formation of people’s government after the general elections,” it said.
