NDPP, KDCC  pay tributes to late Z Obed Solo

Dimapur, January 30 (MExN): More condolence messages poured in over the demise of late Z Obed Solo, former Chief Secretary and ex Cabinet Minister in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly who passed away on January 30.

NDPP: NDPP President Chingwang Konyak in a press release said that unlike many Nagas, tribalism was something totally absent in his psyche, and all and sundry who met him recalled this fact.

“This could be due to the fact that though he was born an Angami from the largest Naga village Kohima, he grew up in Impur (Mopungchuket) and later on, assumed citizenship of Mopungchuket village, and married an Ao,” Konyak observed.

In the passing away of late Obed, Konyak said that Nagas have lost a gem of a leader, an individual and a personality, and the void created by his demise would be difficult to fill.

“The rank and file of the NDPP joins me and my family in conveying our heartfelt condolences to the family members of late Z. Obed and we pray to the Almighty to grant solace to them and all grieving near and dear ones at this hour of grief,” he added.

KDCC: The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) stated that it is saddened by the sudden demise of late Z Obed Solo. KDCC President, Kevi Vizo recollected him as “humble human and a seasoned politician, who always considered the welfare of the Party, specially the KDCC.”

His presence in the party was a morale booster for the party workers and leaders and in his demise we have lost a straight forward leader while the emptiness created in his demise will be difficult to fill.

The KDCC conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and pray to God to grand solace at this hour of grief and eternal rest in peace to the departed soul.
