NDPP, NPF declare candidates for 14 Southern Angami seat

The Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) and the Naga People’s Front (NPF) today declared their candidates for the bye-election to the 14 Southern Angami Assembly Constituency. 

Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio handed the NDPP ticket to Medo Yhokha and called for collective effort to serve the people.

Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton requested all the NDPP and BJP workers to work whole heartedly for “our alliance candidate.”

Nagaland state BJP president Temjen Imna Along said that the PDA alliance has become stronger day by day.

NDPP President Chingwang Konyak congratulated Medo Yhokha and encouraged others who did not get the ticket not to be discouraged but work together for the success of the party. NDPP Secretary General Abu Metha said that all the candidates who applied for the ticket were capable and qualified. “But we can only give the ticket to one and therefore the party constituted a fact finding committee with three members and they were made to interact with all sections, talk to the grassroots, speak to the party organizations and meet with the various party leaders," he informed.

Yhokha meanwhile assured to give his best and uphold the principles of the government. He promised to work with sincerity and commit himself for the party according to the aspirations of the people.

The Naga People’s Front (NPF) meanwhile awarded the party ticket to Kikovi Kirha at the party central office. The ticket was awarded by NPF President, Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu in the presence of other party dignitaries and MLAs. 

“Kikovi Kirha is a longstanding party member and he is currently serving as Secretary, Central Office Bearers, NPF. The party wishes him the best in the upcoming election,” informed a press release from the NPF press bureau.
