NDPP Wokha for ‘Nagaland United Government’; reposes faith in Neiphiu Rio, Chingwang Konyak

Wokha, September 7 (MExN): The NDPP Wokha region, on September 7, welcomed the formation of ‘Nagaland United Government’ in the State and further reposed its faith in the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, and Party President Chingwang Konyak.

It was among other resolutions adopted during a consultative meeting of Wokha district Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) held at its office in Wokha Town on September 7. 

The meeting appreciated and welcomed the decision on “forming the ‘Nagaland United Government’ and reaffirmed support for an early, honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution for the ongoing Naga political issue,” informed a press release from the NDPP Wokha, Media Cell.

The meeting also “reiterated our commitment to work towards strengthening the party at the grassroots in the assembly constituencies in Wokha district,” it said. 

Further, during the meeting, the attendees also appreciated and expressed “wholehearted confidence and extend invigorated support to the tolerant, accommodative and undisputed” leadership of CM Rio, party President Chingwang and all NDDP legislators, it added. 

Meanwhile, at the meeting, General Secretary NDPP & Convener, Central Executive Board (CEB), TL Merry said that "a good follower is a good leader."

Merry, who is also team incharge, NDPP Wokha region, further noted that “politics is a number game” and  called upon the party workers to strengthen and work for the upliftment of the party functioning, the release said. 

Renbomo Kikon, NDPP General Secretary & CEB member also opined that through consultative meetings, the party workers, the pillars of the party, know their duties and responsibilities and urged them to work vigorously.

Another CEB member and Secretary NDPP, Renpio Yanthan called upon the party workers to be active and let people identify them, while his colleague,  Mhonthung Patton, also a Secretay NDPP & CEB, maintained that  the party workers in the district are dynamic  and even Ex-candidates are involved making the party ‘National in outlook and regional in nature.’

The NDPP Wokha also congratulated Abu Metha, Secretary General NDPP Nagaland for his recent appointment as associate vice president of Athletic Federation of India (AFI) for the term up to 2024 and Vikali Zhimomi, for her appointment as the NDPP Nagaland Women wing President.

Earlier, a silent prayer was observed in remembrance of those departed souls’ of various leaders and party workers of NDPP Nagaland, the release added.
