NE Council to felicitate women entrepreneurs

Guwahati, April 7 (MExN): The Vasundahara-NE Woman Entrepreneur of the Year (2014-15) award presentation function will be held on April 8 at the Pragjyoti ITA Centre for Performing Arts, Machhkhowa, Guwahati.   Organised by North Eastern Council (NEC), and Sreemanta Shankar Mission of Guwahati, the award held annually confers eight awards to eight nominated women entrepreneurs from each state of North Eastern Region based on their singular business achievements.   According to a press release, Natwar Thakkar, a prominent Gandhian and Founder of Nagaland Gandhi Ashram, will be conferred with “Purvottar Pran” award on the occasion while his wife, Lentina Ao Thakkar – the first Naga to be trained as a Gandhian worker at the Kasturba Gandhi Memorial National Trust, Assam Branch – would also be felicitated for her lifelong contribution towards spread of Gandhian philosophy.   The NE Woman Entrepreneur of the Year 2014-15 state awardees are: Radha Devi Gurung from Sikkim, Taba Yall Nabam from Arunachal Pradesh, Kevisedenuo Margaret Zinya from Nagaland, Keisham Babita Devi from Manipur, Zoramchhani Ralte from Mizoram, Sumitra Debbarma from Tripura, Janessaline Mary Pyngrope from Meghalaya and Najitara Bori from Assam.
